About Sandra

Hi I’m Sandra. I am a ceramic artist based in Terryglass Co. Tipperary. Following a lifelong interest in ceramics I was delighted to be accepted on the ceramics course in LSAD Limerick and graduated in 2013.

My degree gave me the opportunity to set up my studio the following year and I feel very fortunate to be able to do something I love every day.

My work in influenced by the surrounding countryside, a love of nature and the amazing structure and detail found in plants and how they are formed. The ability is recreating natures detail in clay and glaze is an interesting challenge.
My work is handmade using a variety of clays, white earthenware, terracotta, and porcelain. I make a arrange of framed and unframed wall art, my functional ceramic is wheel thrown earthenware, I also use hand-built terracotta and porcelain as the different clays all have their own properties and nature making clay such a wonderful material to work with.
