About Shane

Hi, my name is Shane Cummins. A Tipperary native that has lived in Ennis for over 25 years.

 I took up woodcraft several years ago and as someone who loves to cook, I combined the two and create various styles of chopping boards, cheese boards, coasters, and serving trays using only premium hardwoods such as Walnut, Cherry and Maple which by their nature are inherently suitable for culinary use due to their robustness and tight grain making them naturally food safe. 

My primary motivation regarding design is practicality and my expressed intention and wish is that people with busy lives will look to use them day to day and not just for special occasions.

In an age of disposable plastics, a premium hardwood board or serving tray makes a beautiful centrepiece to any kitchen table and with a little care and attention, will last years and can become a family heirloom.

I only finish my products with a beeswax-based wood conditioner which is 100% food safe and completely homemade. It is essential to the ongoing care and feeding of any premium wood product.
