About Yvonne

I am Yvonne Edmonds, Batik Artist, currently living in Killaloe.

Though I also use other mediums in my work, such as drawing, painting and printing, Batik has been my main focus for many years. I love the accidental ‘magic’ that happens when the wax cracks and the dye wanders into the space.

In my work I explore form, colour/pattern and line. The themes for my work have always been inspired by nature: my mother’s fabulous flower garden, the magnificent hardwood trees all around where I grew up, wildflowers, the river and all its wildlife, birds, stone circles and dolmen.

I attended Limerick College of Art & Design studying Fine Art: Painting, from 1985 -1989.
